Grizzly bears are large and strong animals. They can reach a height of 2.4 meters (when standing on their hind legs) and can weigh 450 kilograms. They have a kind of hump on the back and very strong hind legs. Grizzly bears can reach speeds of up to 55 kilometers per hour. They live alone and are often aggressive. Often groups can be seen near a river looking for salmon. These bears are omnivores and live on fish, plants and large mammals such as moose, deer and black bears. They are also known for stealing food from wolves and humans.
